Home Internet Filter Test

Internet Filter Test

The internet content filter test is designed to push the limits of any content filter. The exact methods used in the test will not be revealed except to the filter company if they fail the test. A successful breach is achieved if any content that advertised to be blocked is accessed.

Why does it matter? These methods can be learned by either an advanced knowledge of relevant technology or a internet search into the topic. This is not rocket science, and many teenagers could learn how do it.

The test has 9 different methods to attempt to breach the filter. There are 3 different ways a method gets graded. If the method bypasses the filter, the filter will be graded as "weak" in this area. If we are able to find out how to use the method through the filtered connection it will be graded as "fail". We use a scale from 1 - 10, representing ease of bypass for each method. This system will contribute to the final grade of the filter.

Ease of use of each method.
Note: All can be learned with enough time and the ability to follow instructions.
